Member Information Update
- Option to be listed on Member Directory page of Web Indexing SIG web site, which ranks 1st in Google (out of 129,000) for a search on "web indexing." A member may designate which information to include.
- Participation in the Contract Indexer Search database on the web site at no extra charge. After receiving your password you may complete the Contract Indexer Directory Form, or you may print and fill out the Contract Indexer Directory application (pdf).
- Use of the Web Indexing SIG marketing brochure, provided in either the MS Publisher or MS Word formats for reproduction, to which you may add your own contact information.
- Use of the Web Indexing SIG PowerPoint presentation, which you may also modify to promote yourself.
- Participation in the web indexing award.
- Limited benefits of association with our partner organization, the Information Architecture Institute, including participation in the IAI member discussion list and discounts to its events.
- Use of the Web Indexing SIG affiliation on your resume or web site.
- Opportunites for SIG leadership and networking
Membership in the Web Indexing SIG (Special Interest Group) is open to all current members of the American Society for Indexing (ASI) or affiliate indexing societies:
- Indexing Society of Canada
- Society of Indexers (United Kingdom and Ireland)
- Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers
- German Network of Indexers (Deutsches Netzwerk der Indexer)
- Netherlands Indexing Network (Nederlands Indexers Netwerk)
- Association of Southern African Indexers and Bibliographers
- China Society of Indexers
Upon registration, your membership in one of these societies is subject to verification. Please consider joining one of these indexing societies, if you are not a member already.
Prior indexing expertise is not required, as membership in the SIG is considered an opportunity to expand one's knowledge of web indexing.
SIG membership dues for 2007 are just US$5.00. There is also the option of paying a one-time amount of US$25.00 for lifetime membership.
To become a member of the SIG, you may:
1) fill out the online membership form and pay by check (see below for mailing address), by PayPal transfer, or by major credit card via PayPal (no PayPal account required; foreign currencies automatically converted) selecting one of the following:

2) print out and fill out the membership application (pdf) and mail it along with a check for US $5.00 for the annual dues or $25.00 for one-time lifetime dues made out to “Web Indexing SIG, ASI,” to:

Once your payment has cleared you will be issued with a password, which will allow you to edit you membership details using the Modify Membership Form.
If you are a member but had not selected lifetime membership and wish to renew, you may renw again for US$5.00 or upgrade to lifetime membership by paying a one-time fee of $20.00. You may pay either online or by mailed check:

Current members may update their member contact information which displays on the Member Directory page at any time. Use your e-mail address and password to log into the Modify Membership Form. This is the same form as the initial application, but please update your existing record, rather than filling out a complete new form. You may change any information except your e-mail address this way. If you need to change your e-mail address (which is the identifying field in the member database), you must contact , the database administrator.
If you have forgotten your password, you may request that a new one be automatically sent to you by contacting .
At any time you may also choose to add or update your listing in the Contract Indexer Search database. Using your password you may complete the Contract Indexer Directory Form.
